Casa De Paz is hosting a ‘Do Good Thursday’ fundraiser August 8th at Third Eye Brewing in Sharonville from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Casa De Paz provides transitional programing to predominantly Latina survivors of domestic violence in the Greater Cincinnati region.
Since the house opened in 2020 CDP has served women and children fleeing their homes in search for a safer life. One in three Latinx women are affected by domestic violence and although this rate is similar to white women, Latina women struggle with cultural, language and immigration barriers that make it more challenging to flee or get access to resources.
CDP supports these women and offers them hope. Casa De Paz offers mental health therapy, yoga, spiritual guidance, support groups, enrichment activities and life skills. Additionally, they connect residents to additional services such as healthcare, ESL classes, job training, education enrollment, legal support and immigration services.
This fundraiser will help support some household costs such as new bedding and furniture for the residents.
