HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY – Northern Kentucky University’s student organizations, Collegiate
Entrepreneurs’ Organization and Women in Entrepreneurship, will host the campus’s first Norse
Marketplace on Tuesday, April 23.
The student-lead marketplace will allow campus entrepreneurs to experience what it’s like to run
a business for a day. Norse Marketplace will feature 50 tables, including 37 student-run booths
selling everything from jewelry and vintage clothing to books and art and more!
When: Tuesday, April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
(the most action will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
Where: Loch Norse on Northern Kentucky University campus
(inside the Student Union Ballroom in case of rain)
Who: NKU Student Entrepreneurs
Marketing and Entrepreneurship student Sarah Lingren organized the event with a group of
student leaders in NKU’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization and Women in
Entrepreneurship. “We wanted to do something that would support student entrepreneurs and
our organization,” says Sarah. “We don’t charge them anything for the booths, or a percentage
of sales, so we’re here to help the students make money.”
Sarah says the main motivation behind the marketplace is to support student entrepreneurs and
student wellness through financial health. “Our primary goal is community support, to help
student businesses get their names out there. To give them a platform to showcase what they
can do.”
Norse Marketplace will also include a DJ and door prizes, and feature activity booths from
campus organizations including the Campus Recreation Center and the Student Wellness
Center.
