by Robin Gee
Fort Thomas resident Kelly Jones has joined the race for the 68th Kentucky House District. She is the only Democrat in a field that includes three Republicans vying for the seat vacated by Joe Fischer — Mike Clines, Mirna Daniels Eads and Paul Kloeker.
“I am running for state representative in the 68th District because I want to play an active part in helping our communities find our way back to loving our neighbors. There are many diverse needs in the 68th District, and I hope to represent the interests of all of the community members well,” Jones said.
Jones is originally from central Kentucky but has made her home in Fort Thomas for the past 13 years. She and her husband have three young boys. She has a master’s degree in mental health counseling but has also spent time at home raising her children, one of whom, she said, is a proud member of the disability community.
“Specifically, I hope to be a voice supporting families and children, mental health initiatives, the disability community, public education, agriculture and small businesses. The 68th is a district of amazing and caring citizens, and I am honored that I will have a chance to listen and learn from so many wonderful people as I begin my campaign to represent our district in Frankfort.”
