There are many ways to get involved with LINK: You can check our website, which is updated multiple times daily with local news from around the region; you can sign up for one of our newsletters; you can subscribe to our print product; you can donate to help us continue producing independent, solutions-focused journalism; you can become a Friend of LINK (email Nicole at ntrimpe@linknky.com to learn more about that), a professional engagement group that allows members to shape the future of journalism in NKY.
You can also apply to join our editorial board.
When some people hear editorial board, they might think of the group of people inside of a traditional daily newspaper who write opinions on behalf of the paper.
But at LINK, the editorial board is a group of Northern Kentuckians who are not employed in the newsroom who help us make our content better. And we are looking to find two new members to fill recent vacancies.
Members come to quarterly editorial board meetings, where we discuss stories or topics of interest and ask for feedback or suggestions about our reporting. We rely on the board to help us ensure we are properly reflecting what’s happening in Northern Kentucky. What aren’t we covering? What are we missing? Is there a perspective we missed when telling a story? What did we do well? What should we do more of?
Editorial board members to not have editorial oversight or the ability to sway what LINK nky covers or how we cover it.
We do have a few requirements for anyone who wants to be on the editorial board:
- Editorial board members are responsible for reading, watching and listening to the content we produce, and helping us stay true to our mission and guiding principles.
- Board members must live in Boone, Kenton or Campbell counties.
- Elected officials at any level are not eligible to serve on the editorial board.
- Members must commit to attending quarterly meetings, which are held on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Fill out this google form in order to nominate yourself or someone else.
All nominations are anonymous. Once nominations are received, candidates will be contacted with additional information.
