Northern Kentucky under severe thunderstorm watch

Northern Kentucky and the surrounding areas are currently under a severe thunderstorm watch, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch is active until 4 p.m. The primary threat of this storm is heavy winds. The NWS said they cannot rule out a “brief tornado.”

While the storms are expected to end by 5 p.m., more storms may be coming to the area starting around midnight Friday morning and continuing into the afternoon.
