The Roebling Bridge will undergo brief periodic closures this week to allow crews to inspect the structural components of the bridge.

The inspections will take place from Monday to Friday next week, Aug. 17 through Aug. 21. Although the inspections will not require a complete closure of the bridge, there will be periods throughout the week when drivers will not be able to use it.

The bridge will close to all vehicle traffic up to three times next week, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Specific dates and times will vary, depending on how the inspection goes, but “these closures will occur within the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” according to a cabinet announcement. At least one pedestrian lane will remain open throughout the week.

Single lane closures and other traffic changes may also take place throughout the week, according to the cabinet. Inspection crews will be on-site from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day next week.

Drivers who frequent the bridge should plan accordingly.
