A multitude of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport’s passenger bridges will be updated following a $14 million award from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminal Program.

Passenger bridges are the enclosed, elevated passageways that extend from an airport terminal gate to an airplane.

CVG will begin a new phased approach to replace 28 bridges beginning in June. Some of the bridges are close to 30 years old.

The program and funding is part of the new Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and will take place over the next two and a half years.

“With these funds, CVG will be able to accelerate the replacement of aging assets like passenger boarding bridges in Concourse B, which will greatly improve the customer experience at our airport.” said Candance McGraw, CEO of CVG. “Senator McConnell was instrumental in passing this law and creating this program. I am grateful for his tireless support and advocacy for CVG.”
