The Elsmere Police Department has teamed up with the State of Kentucky’s Department of Probation and Parole to crack down on convicted sex offenders neglecting to register their residence with law enforcement

State law requires convicted sex offenders report their primary address, which then is posted to a website for the public to view.

Elsmere Police are partnering with The Kentucky Department of Corrections District 7 Probation & Parole officers to ensure convicted sex offenders are complying with the requirement.

Currently, there are 19 registered offenders within a one-mile radius of the city of Elsmere. However, the mapping feature does not include registered offenders who are incarcerated or non-compliant.

However, the city currently has arrest warrants for two offenders who have allegedly violated state-mandated conditions of registering where they live.
