Multiple Northern Kentucky state senators were named as committee chairs, vice chairs and co-chairs ahead of the 2025 General Assembly.
There are two types of committees in the Kentucky Senate: standing and statutory. Standing committees meet only during the General Assembly and are chaired and vice-chaired by only state senators. Statutory committees meet year-round and are co-chaired by a senator and member of the House of Representatives.
Standing Committees
- Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-Ryland Heights) will reprise his role as the Senate’s Appropriations and Revenue chair.
- Sen. Shelley Funke Frommeyer (R-Alexandria) was named the Senate’s Economic Development, Tourism, and Labor vice chair.
- Sen. Gex Williams (R-Verona) was named the Senate’s Natural Resources and Energy vice chair.
Statutory Committees
- Funke Frommeyer was named as the co-chair of the Capital Projects and Bond Oversight committee.
- Williams was named as the co-chair of the Investments in IT improvement and Modernization Projects Oversight Board.
