Elsmere City Council called a special meeting last week to repeal a municipal order passed last year concerning negotiations with Flagship Communities REIT.

The order authorized the city to acquire 18 acres of Heartland Pointe, a real estate property owned by Flagship Communities REIT at 1630 Garvey Ave., with the aim of constructing a public works facility and a public park at the location. The council approved the order’s repeal with no further comment.

Flagship Communities Real Estate Investment Trust owns and operates 81 manufactured housing communities throughout the Midwest, with 36 located in Kentucky cities and towns, including Elsmere, Florence, Walton, Fort Mitchell and Alexandria.
