The Boone County Fiscal Court has approved the promotion of William Buerger to solid waste services supervisor within the Public Works Department.
Buerger will assume the role recently vacated by Mike Wilson, Boone County Human Resources Director Lori Zombek said.
“He was actually just promoted, probably a month and a half ago, to the position right under the supervisor – unknown to us that Mike was going to resign,” Zombek said. “He is the most qualified for the position, so we are very happy to promote him to this position.”
Boone County Solid Waster oversees the county’s Big Blue Bin recycling program, as well as campaigns to address littering and illegal dumping, among other responsibilities, according to the Boone County website.
The Boone County Fiscal Court approved the action via a 4-0 vote.
