The Walton-Verona Board of Education approved policies to keep the 2023 property tax rate unchanged at their meeting Thursday evening.
The approval comes after Kevin Ryan, the finance director for Walton-Verona Independent Schools, recommended the board leave the tax rate unchanged at their Aug. 3 meeting.
Keeping the tax rate unchanged means residents in the district will continue to pay about $1.12 per $100 of property valuation.
Walton-Verona Independent Schools received approximately $5.8 million in general property taxes in 2022.
