Northern Kentucky native and Thomas More University graduate Kim Halbauer was elected 2027 chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Halbauer currently serves as Fifth Third Bank’s Kentucky regional president.

“I’m honored to serve as chair of the Kentucky Chamber and to work alongside such a strong group of business leaders from across the commonwealth,” said Halbauer in a press release. “The Chamber has an important role in bringing employers together, addressing the challenges facing our businesses, and advancing opportunities for Kentucky’s future.”

Halbauer has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from Thomas More University and has worked for Fifth Third for over 30 years. She began her career at the bank as a customer service representative in college before moving up the ranks. She previously served as the managing director of Fifth Third Private Bank in Cincinnati, where she managed roughly $12 billion in assets. She was named a regional president in 2020.

“Kim has been a tremendous leader for Kentucky’s business community, and we are excited to welcome her as chair of the Kentucky Chamber,” said Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts in the release. “Her experience, commitment to strengthening communities and passion for helping businesses and working families succeed will be invaluable as we continue our work to advance Kentucky.”

Halbauer will serve as chair for the 2026-2027 term. You can find a full roster of board members and more information about the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce at kychamber.com.
