President Donald Trump is coming to Highland Heights on Saturday for a midterm rally, and we now know where the rally will take place.
An announcement from Highland Heights Police indicates that the rally will take place at Truist Arena, located at 500 Louie B. Nunn Dr. The police have issued a traffic alert for Saturday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
“Anticipate significant traffic delays and potential road closures in the areas surrounding Northern Kentucky University and Truist Arena,” the police warn. “Traffic disruptions are expected throughout the day. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes when traveling through the area.”
The Heaviest amount of traffic is anticipated between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to the police department.
The rally comes weeks ahead of the midterm election. A seat in the U.S. Senate is up for grabs, with Republican Andy Barr and Democrat Charles Booker looking to replace longtime incumbent Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell.
A congressional representative in Kentucky’s 4th District is also on the ballot. Republican Ed Gallrein, who won the primary nomination over incumbent Republican Thomas Massie, Democrat Melissa Strange and Libertarian Jeremy Todd, are looking to fill that seat.
