Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed Michelle Snodgrass of Cold Spring to Northern Kentucky University’s Board of Regents.
Snodgrass is a Salmon P. Chase College of Law alumna and private practice attorney. She was the first female commonwealth attorney in Campbell County, and longtime chief prosecutor for the 17th Judicial Circuit.
“As a lifelong Campbell County resident, I’ve had a front-row seat to Northern Kentucky University’s remarkable growth over the years,” said Snodgrass. “I’m especially proud to serve a university that has been such an important part of my own journey as a Chase College of Law alumna and former adjunct professor. It is a tremendous honor to join the Board of Regents, and I look forward to helping ensure NKU continues to provide life-changing opportunities for students while serving our region for generations to come.”
Snodgrass currently practices law at her firm, Michelle Snodgrass Law, in Fort Mitchell. During her time as the Commonwealth Attorney, she successfully prosecuted thousands of felony cases, including murders, drug trafficking, child physical and sexual abuse, and currently holds a 100% conviction rate in jury trials. Snodgrass has served as an instructor at the Kentucky Prosecutor Institute, while also working with multiple police departments across the state to help educate and train new officers in trial testimony.
Her term will run through September 2031.
“We are pleased to welcome Michelle to the Board of Regents,” said NKU Board Of Regents Chair Kara Williams. “Her deep ties to Northern Kentucky University and our region, combined with her legal experience and longstanding commitment to public service, make her a valuable addition to the board. I look forward to working alongside her as we continue advancing the university’s mission and creating opportunities for our students and the communities we serve.”
Beshear also reappointed regent Victoria Grooms to another term expiring in June 2032. Grooms is the director of admissions at Per Scholas, a nonprofit in Covington providing tuition-free IT career training and job placement services.
