U.S. News & World Report ranked St. Elizabeth Edgewood as the top hospital in Greater Cincinnati and across Kentucky in its ‘2026–2027 Best Hospitals‘ list.

St. Elizabeth Edgewood, located at 1 Medical Village Dr., is among six hospitals within St. Elizabeth Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in Northern Kentucky. It’s the hospital’s second consecutive year being named Kentucky’s best and the first time it has been recognized as the best in the region.

“To be recognized as the No. 1 hospital system in Kentucky for a second consecutive year, and now as No. 1 in Greater Cincinnati, reflects the extraordinary dedication of our team and the trust our patients place in us,” St. Elizabeth CEO Garren Colvin said in a news release. “It is a powerful reminder that nationally recognized care is available close to home. This achievement belongs to every provider, associate and volunteer whose skill, compassion and relentless commitment make exceptional care possible each and every day.”

U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate measures such as risk-adjusted patient survival rates, preventable complications, patient safety, nurse staffing and quality, patient experience and the hospital’s ability to care for medically complex patients. Specialty rankings, such as cancer, cardiology, orthopedics and neurology care, are also considered.

U.S. News & World Report rated St. Elizabeth Edgewood as ‘High Performing’ in 21 out of 24 evaluated categories. Some of the categories include advanced cardiac procedures, joint replacement, and lung cancer surgery, among others.
