Leaders of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport have signed an agreement with the German Airport Technology & Equipment Alliance to advance supplier innovation, technology testing and international business collaboration.
The agreement was signed at the recent Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom, held July 20 to 24. The GATE Alliance is a consortium of more than 120 European aviation and aerospace companies that develop emerging technologies for use at airports.
“CVG believes innovation happens when organizations are willing to test ideas in real-world environments and learn from one another,” CVG CEO Larry Krauter said in a news release. “This partnership creates a new transatlantic pathway for collaboration and strengthens connections between our region and one of the world’s leading aviation markets.”
The agreement establishes a formal innovation partnership between CVG and Germany’s GATE Alliance, enabling GATE members to test technologies and explore new markets in both the United States and Germany. The partnership will give GATE companies access to CVG’s aviation ecosystem in the U.S., while CVG will have opportunities to connect with the GATE Alliance’s network of airport tech firms in Germany.
Going forward, both organizations will establish a working group to identify future opportunities for collaboration.
CVG and GATE Alliance will reconvene at GATE FUTURE 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, on October 21 and 22. CVG’s Chief Innovation Officer, Brian Cobb, is slated to speak at the event.
