The Northern Kentucky Juneteenth Committee will host an event in Covington on Saturday, the day after Juneteenth, recognizing Black excellence throughout the community.
Awards will be featured in several categories, honoring everything from excellence in education, business, community impact and advocacy, among other categories.
The event will also feature food, games and music. Covington Independent Public Schools will be on site to distribute shirts and shoes to students while supplies last.
The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Covington Landing on Saturday, June 20.
Consult the committee’s press release for more information, and be sure to check out the fourth annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 19 at the Florence Nature Center.
