The Boone County Public Library Foundation received a $25,000 grant to support a revitalization project of the Hebron branch.

The game comes from the H.F. & Louise Tuechter Dornette Foundation, with Fifth Third Bank serving as the trustee, according to a press release from the Boone County Library.

The “Rejuvenate, Grow, Charge: Powered by the Community” project aims to redevelop more than 30 acres surrounding the branch into an outdoor space featuring walking trails, community gardens and clean energy infrastructure. The branch is located at 1863 N. Bend Rd. in Hebron.

“In 2025, the library gathered public feedback about what they would like to see for this outdoor space,” Boone County Public Library Executive Director Carrie Herrmann said in a press release. “This engagement confirmed strong community interest in outdoor amenities that complement the Library’s educational and programming mission, particularly spaces for community gatherings and passive recreation.”

The project is expected to begin its first phase in early fall 2026.
