Horizon Community Funds has launched a new fund aimed at helping cancer patients at the St. Elizabeth Yung Family Cancer Center in Edgewood get reliable access to food.
Dubbed the St. Elizabeth Nourish Food Pantry Fund, donations to the fund will support the Nourish Food Pantry at the center, which “provides patients and their families with healthy food options, including fresh produce and protein, to help support their health and recovery,” according to a press release from Horizon Community Funds. Since its founding in 2023, the pantry has distributed more than 77,000 pounds of food, providing over 64,000 meals to more than 11,000 people in the region.
“Access to nutritious food is an essential part of healing,” said Nancy Grayson, president and CEO of Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky. “The St. Elizabeth Nourish Food Pantry ensures that patients and families facing cancer treatment don’t have to worry about where their next healthy meal will come from.”
