Nonprofits across Kentucky are set to unite for a 24-hour online giving event on May 12.

The Kentucky Nonprofit Network, a coalition of more than 1,200 nonprofits across the Bluegrass State, will host the 14th annual Kentucky Gives Day, a charity drive that encourages residents statewide to donate to their favorite nonprofit. The event will last from midnight to 11:59 p.m.

Since its inception, Kentucky Gives Day has generated over $6.7 million in donations for participating nonprofits.

“As nonprofit organizations across Kentucky navigate an unpredictable funding landscape and growing community needs, their work has never been more essential,” Kentucky Nonprofit Network CEO Danielle Clore said in a news release. “Nonprofits touch every Kentuckian in some way, every single day. Kentucky Gives Day is a powerful reminder that anyone can be a philanthropist. By donating and sharing, Kentuckians can come together to strengthen the organizations that serve our communities and invest in the future of our Commonwealth.”

This year, Kentucky Gives Day will offer a 1:1 match opportunity during designated periods, doubling the impact of donations and expanding the overall prize pool.

Donors can browse nonprofit profiles and track progress in real time at kygives.org. Donations made on May 12 may be matched or qualify for cash prizes throughout the day, helping organizations maximize their fundraising.

In addition, the Central Kentucky Community Foundation in Elizabethtown is offering regional prize incentives. Supporters are encouraged to follow along and join the conversation on Facebook and Instagram using #kygives26.
