Edgewood City Clerk Belinda Nitschke has been honored as the 2026 Clerk of the Year by the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association. Nitschke was honored on April 16 at the association’s annual spring conference in Paducah.
Nitschke was nominated by Edgewood City Administrator Brian Dehner.
“She exemplifies the very best of the municipal clerk profession through her leadership, integrity, professionalism, commitment to education and unwavering dedication to public service,” Dehner wrote in his letter for support.
Nitschke was brought on as Edgewood’s deputy clerk in 2012; she joined the clerks association the same year. She became the head city clerk in 2018. She has been active in various committees at the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association. She’s also served as the secretary and vice president of the Kentucky Public Human Resources Association and as a member of the Northern Kentucky Government Finance Officers Association.
She lives in Union with her husband.
