Spring has officially sprung, as of March 20, and the Northern Kentucky Health Department is offering a set of preparation recommendations ahead of the spring weather.

“March certainly came in like a lion (if you remember the snow and rain storms), and it looks like it’s going out like a lamb,” reads a social media announcement from the department. “But don’t let the sun and warmth make you complacent. April and May also bring wacky weather and the disasters that often accompany it.”

Last April saw historic flooding in the region, an issue that has affected numerous communities in various ways throughout the years. The region is also susceptible to landslides and slippages, tornadoes and the occasional blizzard.

The Health Department has created a centralized webpage with advice on how to prepare for various disasters and health hazards. Check it out at nkyhealth.org/healthandsafety.
