First responders are searching for a missing 9-year-old girl in the Florence area, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Kentucky State Police issued an IAN alert for Jenny Din just after 9 p.m. Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 9-year-old was last seen walking on Macintosh Lane in Florence toward Afton Drive around 5 p.m. Friday.

An IAN alert is a state system to help locate missing adults or children with autism or other developmental disorders.

Police said she is described as Asian, 4 feet 4 inches, 53 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blueish jacket described as “mint,” police said, pink headphones and no shoes. Din has pierced ears and is non-verbal.

Lt. Anthony Theetge with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office asked people to check anywhere someone may be looking to get warm. Theetge said the elements could be dangerous, and Din’s family believes she would go to a warm, contained area.

Anyone who locates Din is asked to contact the KSP at 859-428-1212 or call 911. Anyone with cameras in the area is asked to check them starting from 5 p.m. Friday.
