After a 25-hour search, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of 9-year-old Jenny Din.
Officials and volunteers began the search in the Florence area Friday evening, and Kentucky State Police issued an IAN alert just after 9 p.m. that night.
An IAN alert is a state system to help locate missing adults or children with autism or other developmental disorders.
According to the sheriff’s office, Din was last seen walking on Macintosh Lane in Florence toward Afton Drive around 5 p.m. Friday.

The sheriff’s office said more than 20 different agencies were working together to locate Din.
At 9:23 p.m. Saturday, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Din’s body had been recovered from a pond near her home.
