The Bellevue Police Department shared a photo on its Facebook page over the weekend of a coyote catching up on its sleep on the ice coating the Ohio River.

It is currently coyote mating season, which typically runs from January through March, with activity peaking in February. According to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, during the breeding season, coyotes may be less tolerant of dogs and more territorial.
