A flood advisory is in effect for Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties until 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Specifically, the Weather Service is warning of minor flooding in low-lying and poorly drained areas.

“Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen,” as of 10:36 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. “Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible.”

Affected areas include Covington, Florence, Independence, Erlanger, Fort Thomas, Newport, Edgewood, Alexandria and Elsmere.
