While it may be Election Day in some parts of the country, like in Ohio or New York, it is not in Kentucky.
Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams said via Facebook that his office is getting calls about polls being closed. “They are closed because there are no elections in Kentucky today,” reads the post.
The next election in Kentucky will be the primary on May 19, 2026, followed by the general election on Nov. 3, 2026. Many seats will be up for election at that time, including the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Kentucky Senate, Kentucky House of Representatives, county offices, school boards, city councils, and most mayors.
For the 2026 Kentucky primary election, the candidate filing period begins on Nov. 5, 2025, and ends at 4 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2026. Keep up to date with everything NKY elections here.
