The Boone County Sheriff’s Office issued a Golden Alert Wednesday for a missing 13-year-old from Florence; she was found safe around 10 a.m. Thursday morning, the sheriff’s office told us.

Police initially said the teen was last seen at Ockerman Middle School as school was dismissing for the day Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office was concerned for the girl’s safety because they said she has a developmental delay and may not react “as one may expect of a 13-year-old.”

The sheriff’s office told us the teen was found safe; after investigating her disappearance through the night, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office said it was determined the teen was was not in danger.
