Osvaldo Pardo, a 33-year-old man from Florence, was sentenced in federal court this week to 12 years in prison after being caught with 807 grams of cocaine.
He was also found with $1,440 in cash, 2,973 grams of marijuana, a pistol, a digital scale and a money counter, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney General’s Office.
Evidently, Pardo was selling drugs out of a motel in Florence. Police worked with a confidential informant to conduct a bust, which allowed them to search the motel room and discover the aforementioned items.
“Pardo admitted to possessing these items, including the cocaine and the firearm, and he further admitted that he possessed the firearm in furtherance of his drug trafficking activity,” according to the press release. Pardo reached a plea deal with prosecutors in February.
Pardo must serve at least 85% of his prison sentence before he is eligible for probation. Upon his release, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for the remainder of his life.
