U.S. Rep. Andy Barr is traveling to Northern Kentucky on Friday as part of his campaign for the Senate.

Barr, a native of Lexington, is the current representative for Kentucky’s 6th congressional district, a position he’s held since 2013. Barr is currently competing in a Republican Senate primary against former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and entrepreneur Nate Morris. Sitting U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell is set to retire at the end of his term.

Barr will speak in Erlanger on Aug. 15 about federal policy developments and their potential effects on Kentucky businesses, especially in Northern Kentucky. The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will host the event.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Receptions Banquet and Conference Center – South, 1379 Donaldson Road. Barr is the chair of the U.S. House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy.

According to an NKY Chamber press release, Barr will discuss federal banking, access to capital, and economic growth policies, and how these issues could impact employers in the region. The congressman is also seeking election to the U.S. Senate in 2026.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions following his remarks.
