The annual Covington “Cram the Cruiser” school supply drive is set for this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kroger on Winston Avenue in Covington.

Community members can purchase school supplies directly at the store and then fill police cruisers with these supplies for distribution in backpacks at the National Night Out celebration on August 5.

The Covington Police Department hopes to distribute 100 packbacks this year, according to an announcement from the city.

“Working together to help kids ready themselves for the school year is a great way to make a positive lasting impact on our community and build meaningful relationships along the way,” Police Community Liaison Rachel White said.
