Adopt a dog and buy bourbon this weekend at a special two-day event put on in partnership with The Boone County Distilling Company and Fred’s Mission Dog Rescue.
Dubbed the “Barks & Bourbon Dog Adoption Weekend,” the event invites the community to learn about the work of Fred’s Mission and adopt a dog on the grounds of the distillery, located in Independence. It will also feature food trucks, local vendors and a bar where you can sample some of the distillery’s signature drinks and cocktails.
“We love teaming up with Fred’s Mission because everyone who works here cares deeply for animals,” said Abby Moore, marketing coordinator at Boone County Distilling Company, in a press release. “It’s a great chance for folks to come out, support a wonderful cause and maybe even meet their new best friend.”
The event is free and open to the public. It will take place at the Boone County Distillery on Toebben Drive in Independence on July 12 and 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Adoption paperwork and processes will be handled by Fred’s Mission directly, but cash donations towards Fred’s Mission will be accepted at the distillery’s gift shop throughout the month of July.
