The city of Elsmere authorized a bid for a city welcome sign at their July 8 meeting.
The city council approved a municipal order authorizing the mayor to enter a contract with Centric Constructions Inc. The company was chosen after entering a bid advertised by the city on June 11.
Centric is set to construct a welcome sign for Elsmere at 4517 Dixie Highway for $49,175. The sign is expected to be completed within 90 to 120 days, though a formal contract is pending.
The council also approved a municipal order authorizing the mayor to enter an interlocal agreement with the city of Erlanger concerning St. Henry Roman Catholic Church.
Under the agreement, both cities will pool funding to maintain a police presence as a school resource officer at St. Henry Catholic Parish and School while classes are in session. The students will be considered residents of both Elsmere and Erlanger.
