The Boone County Public Library will host a suicide prevention training at its Walton location in May.
The training will be hosted by Larry McNabb, a vocational rehabilitation counselor who will instruct attendees in the QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) process of suicide prevention, according to the library’s website. Attendees will learn how to spot the warning of signs of suicidal crisis and will receive a certificate for completing the training.
The training will take place on Tuesday, May 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Walton branch on Towne Center Drive. A similar training is tentatively scheduled at the library’s Scheben branch in Union for Sept. 3.
