Dan Beard Council, the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area administrative body of Scouting America—formerly the Boy Scouts of America—has launched a fund with Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky.
The Dan Beard Fund will support scouts and scouting initiatives and programs in Northern Kentucky and Southwestern Ohio.
Dan Beard Council serves 12 counties in Northern Kentucky and Southwestern Ohio and boasts an average annual membership of 20,000 families. It is one of the larger metropolitan councils in the country and the largest youth organization in the Cincinnati area.
“We are thrilled to partner with Dan Beard Council to support their mission of developing young leaders in our community,” Horizon Community Funds CEO Nancy Grayson said in a press release. “By establishing this fund, they are ensuring that generations of Scouts in Northern Kentucky will have the resources they need to grow, learn, and serve.”
The council administers the Scouting program through seven districts, providing volunteer support, training, program opportunities, and administrative services such as membership and advancement records, new unit development, and unit fundraising opportunities, such as the annual popcorn sale.
“We are delighted and honored to be part of a community fund that supports Scouting,” Dan Beard Council CEO Andy Zahn said in the release. “This partnership allows us to further our mission of empowering young people, instilling leadership, and fostering personal growth.
Horizon Community Funds is a nonprofit allows donors to support their preferred nonprofit organization or charitable effort by giving them an option of making endowed or non-endowed gifts. Horizon’s mission is unite resources to raise the quality of life for all people in the Northern Kentucky, according to its website.
Now on horizonfunds.org, supporters of the Dan Beard Council can donate anywhere from $20 to $500 to the organization.
