Mazak Corporation, a Japanese-based company that designs and manufactures machine tool, was recognized by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for its impact on the region.

Mazak received the NKY Community Award during the chamber’s Eggs ‘N Issues breakfast panel on March 18. The NKY Community Award recognizes individuals, businesses or organizations in the Northern Kentucky region that have positively impacted the community.

The manufacturer opened its Florence factory in 1974. Today, the factory has expanded to 20 times its original size and produces over 100 models of turning centers, multitasking machines, automation systems, and vertical machining centers and more than 70 machining solutions

“For over half a century, Mazak Corporation has built a world-class facility and cultivated a strong workforce, ensuring a sustainable future,” NKY Chamber President Brent Cooper said in a press release. “Mazak partners with local colleges, high schools, and trade schools to inspire and recruit the next generation of skilled workers. Their continued success fuels economic growth, creates jobs, and strengthens our community—making Northern Kentucky an even better place to live, work, play, learn and give back”.

Last October, Mazak celebrated its 50th anniversary in Florence. Nearly a year prior, Mazak opened a new 27,000-square-foot SYNCREX Assembly Plant at its Florence campus.
