The Black Balloon Project, a nonprofit art project that raises awareness about overdoses, is hosting an event in Erlanger on March 1.
The project uses photos of people who have loved ones who died from an overdose to create a public art gallery.
The event will feature speakers, a silent auction as well as resources and education related to overdoses.
Money raised will go to the creation of “move-in kits” stocked with bedding, hygiene supplies and other resources to help individuals in recovery who are entering recovery housing.
A portion of the funding will also go to the Zach Ziehm Memorial Project, which offers emergency finances to families who have recently lost a loved one to an overdose.
The event will take place at the Receptions Event Center on Donaldson Highway in Erlanger on March 1, beginning at 1 p.m. It is free and open to the public. To learn more, consult the flyer below or visit the project’s Facebook page.
