Mayor Julie Aubuchon swore in a new Florence City Council member last week who was appointed to fill the position recently vacated by the death of member David Osborne.

New member David M. Schneider, Jr., is a Florence resident and insurance professional who served on the Florence Board of Adjustment from 2006 to 2014. He also has served more than 20 years as an officer for the Boone County Business Association.

“I fully support the Florence City Council’s appointment of David M. Schneider and look forward to working with him in this new role,” Aubuchon said. “I have known Dave for over 20 years, and he has always been a strong advocate for our community. His dedication and experience will be a great asset to the city.”

A longtime Florence resident, Schneider has been involved in a number of community and civic organizations. He’s played an active role in the annual Bean Bash, an event that benefits the Northern Kentucky Special Olympics and other area charities devoted to helping disabled children and adults.
