The Northern Kentucky Water District has been honored for workplace safety for the 13th year in a row.
Called the 2024 Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance, or KEMI, Destiny Award, the honor recognizes employers who consistently manage a formal workplace safety program and effectively implement training measures.
“We are proud to have received this award for the thirteenth consecutive year. At the Northern Kentucky Water District, safety is one of our key values, and it isn’t just something we talk about – it’s something we do,” said NKWD President and CEO Lindsey Rechtin in a press release. “Our board continually demonstrates its safety commitment by investing in our established safety program and supporting new initiatives to help our employees. From the top-down we have truly created a culture of safety at NKWD.”
The district manages water access to about 300,000 people in Boone, Campbell, Kenton, Grant and Pendleton Counties, making them the largest water district in the commonwealth.
