Boone County Sheriff seeks suspects who crashed into pawn shop

The Boone County Sheriff is asking residents for help in identifying suspects who drove a car into Goodies Pawn on Petersburg Road in Hebron before burglarizing the shop early Thursday morning.

The car was a stolen Hyundai Elantra, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspects used the car to crash through the doors to the shop around 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16. Security camera footage shows two suspects climbing over the car and into the shop. The police statement says “multiple firearms” were pilfered from a closed display case before the suspects retreated to a separate getaway car less than a minute later.

“Detectives have determined that at least five (5) suspects are involved – two (2) that enter the business, two (2) that remain outside the business and at least one (1) driving the getaway vehicle,” the police statement reads. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting in the investigation.
