Small Business Saturday is an annual event that encourages people to frequent their local mom-and-pop shops to kick off the holiday season.
Taking place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, many small businesses offer deals and other discounts in celebration of the event.

The Roost Latonia: 3616 Decoursey Ave., Covington
The eclectic coffee and antique shop is hosting Shop Small Saturday. In this event, Latonia-based makers and pop-up shops will post up at The Roost to share details about their business and other plans they have for the holiday season. The event will last from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Fort Thomas Farmers’ Market: 801 Cochran Ave., Fort Thomas
Members of the Fort Thomas Business Council will be handing out free reusable tote bags and other coupons to small businesses to encourage people to shop locally.
Farrah Ann’s Boutique: 361 Cross Roads Blvd., Cold Spring
This Cold Spring boutique is hosting a Small Business Saturday get-together featuring Danishes, muffins, giveaways, swag bags and much more. The event is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Creative House of Art and Design: 609 Main St., Covington
This art shop offers patrons several deals. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Creative House of Art and Design will offer doorbusters discounts every hour. In addition, for every $100 a customer spends, they will receive any pair of earrings of their choice.
Left Bank Coffeehouse: 701 Greenup St., Covington
This Covington coffee and gift shop will have extended shopping hours from 2 to 6 p.m. this Saturday.
