A scholarship fund has been started in honor of the late Mary Philippe, a guidance counselor at Beechwood Independent Public Schools who died on Oct. 27.
The scholarship will be open to any graduating Beechwood student.
“During her 16 years at Beechwood, she helped numerous students find the path that was appropriate for them,” reads the scholarship information page by Horizon Community Funds, which is administering the donation efforts. “As a guidance counselor, she balanced a plethora of responsibilities, but her true passion was helping young adults find their best life path.”
