Fort Thomas Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s office are warning residents about scam callers impersonating the police and sheriff asking for donations.

“The Sheriff’s Office will also never call you and ask you to pay over the telephone to resolve any legal document or warrant, nor will any deputy meet you outside of our offices to rectify a situation,” reads an announcement from the city on Facebook. “In addition to the phone calls, scammers are using the departments name and address of 1098 Monmouth Street as a place to meet in the parking lot to settle an issue. This does not happen.”

Residents should verify any suspicious calls with the sheriff’s office by calling 859-292-3833.
