Applications for the Gold Star Teacher of the Year are now open.
For the sixth consecutive year, Gold Star is partnering with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati to find and celebrate model educators with an outstanding commitment to education and their students.
Parents, students, community members, and other educational professionals throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky can nominate an outstanding educator online through Dec. 20.
Since the program’s inception in 2020, nearly 3,000 nominations of exceptional teachers across the Tri-state have been made for the Gold Star Teacher of the Year Program. Starting in February 2025, the community can vote for one of the 10 Gold Star Teacher finalists. The winner will be announced in mid-March 2025.
“Honoring the tireless work educators put in for the benefit of others through our Gold Star Teacher program is our way of simply saying ‘thank you,'” Gold Star CEO Roger David said in a press release. “Our friends at the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati continue to be great stewards of cultivating the talent of our region’s young people. They are the perfect partner to help us recognize the adults that encourage them to do so.”
Grand prize winners will receive a $2,000 grant, a $1,000 donation to their school’s Parent-Teacher Association, and free cheese coney/meal vouchers for all students and staff.
Additionally, they’ll get a gift basket with TCT/Gold Star merchandise, school supplies, $500 in gift cards, and their choice of a TCT on Tour Production or TCT WorkShop for 30 students and two chaperones.
Nominees will receive a gift basket with a $100 Gold Star gift card, a commemorative “Will Teach for Coneys” t-shirt, and four main stage passes to an upcoming Children’s Theatre production.
