Firefighters don’t yet have a timeline for when they think the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, known locally as the Big Mac Bridge, will reopen after repairs, but Ohio Department of Transportation spokesperson Matt Bruning said, “it will not be days.”
Here are detours you can take while crews work to repair the bridge:
In Kentucky, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has blocked northbound I-471 at the I-275 interchange, advising motorists to use I-275 eastbound or westbound as an alternative.
Additional ramp closures affect these exits: Alexandria Pike, Grand Avenue, Memorial Parkway and Dave Cowens Drive.
On the Ohio side, ODOT has rerouted southbound I-471 traffic onto I-71/75 southbound. Access to I-471 from Liberty Street, 5th Street and Columbia Parkway is closed, with further detours for Pete Rose Way and Riverside Drive.
