The city of Fort Thomas is gearing up for a fun, family-friendly event later this month, but it needs help to make it happen.

The Fort Thomas Pumpkin Walk is a yearly event that takes place on the last Friday of October. Over 400 jack-o-lanterns are carved and displayed in Tower Park. The event also includes light shows, music, a movie at the Amphitheatre, food trucks, community partners and activities.

The city needs volunteers to help keep the magic alive and is looking for volunteers to help carve pumpkins for the event.

“You can stop in and pick up a pumpkin to carve and then drop off or carve the pumpkins in the Armory at 950 South Fort Thomas Avenue,” said Fort Thomas Economic Development Director Chanda Calentine in a press release. “You can carve as many as you want and be there however long you can be. We will have some tools on site to help carve. We have more pumpkins this year and we want to see them all decorated for the season.”

Days and hours for carving, along with picking up and dropping off pumpkins at the armory, are:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
