The owners of the Florence Y’alls have purchased the franchise for the Windy City Thunderbolts, another team in the Frontier League’s Western Conference. The team is based in Crestwood, Illinois, about 27 miles outside of Chicago.
David DelBello and his partners, who have owned the Y’alls since 2019, finalized the deal on Friday, purchasing the Thunderbolts from the team’s former owner, Brian Kahn.
“We want to bring an elevated baseball experience to Windy City while also focusing on building a strong community and having fun,” DelBello said.
“I want to thank Brian Kahn for his commitment to our organization and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” said Windy City General Manager Mike VerSchave. “The Windy City ThunderBolts couldn’t be more excited to have David DelBello and his ownership team lead our club into its next chapter.”
The teams will play each other nine times in the 2025 season.
