Community leaders are seeking feedback from residents to better understand how Northern Kentucky’s housing stock aligns with residents’ work and lifestyle and what their income allows them to afford across the region.
Leaders are expanding their efforts to gather feedback from residents after the Northern Kentucky Housing Study revealed the need for what they call “income-aligned housing” stock in the region. This year, leaders have gathered feedback through data walks and listening sessions hosted by Brighton Center and Brighton Properties in partnership with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the Northern Kentucky Area Development District.

Now, a survey has been launched for Northern Kentucky residents who cannot attend data walks but still want to provide feedback on the region’s current housing landscape, how it has impacted their families and how they hope policymakers will address housing issues going forward.
Residents can get involved by providing feedback via the form here.
According to the study, at its current rate, workforce job creation in Northern Kentucky is outpacing workforce housing availability, putting strain on residents and employers. The study found that the commonwealth’s eight northernmost counties need to create a combined 6,650 additional housing units beyond currently planned developments to support continued economic growth over the next five years.
