Cognia, a regional accreditation nonprofit, has named Ludlow Independent Public Schools as a “System of Distinction” in 2024 for embodying the organization’s performance standards. Ludlow was one of 11 districts in the country to receive the honor and the only district in the commonwealth to earn it.

“To continue to be accredited for nearly 100 years, and now being recognized as one of the best school districts in the country through Cognia is a testament to the amazing people in our district and our community,” said Superintendent Dr. Jason Steffen.

Cognia honored the district both at the Sept. 19 Board of Education meeting and at Cognia’s annual summit in Lexington on Sept. 23.
