Two seniors at Villa Madonna Academy in Villa Hills have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program: Mark Antrobus and Rebecca Raziano.
They will join more than 16,000 other semifinalists from around the nation in the next round of the program, where they will compete to win one of 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, collectively worth about $26 million.
About 1.3 million high school students entered the competition this year by completing a practice SAT. Those who made it into the semifinal round represent the entrants with the highest scores in each state. Final scholarship awards will be announced next spring.
